JDownloader is a free download management tool that allows you to quickly download files from hosting services such as Mediafire, 4Shared, and other similar functionality hosting services. File hosting services often gatekeep your full download speed to incentivize purchasing premium packages; JDownloader helps you circumvent that requirement. 

Other tools such as Internet Download Manager and Free Download Manager offer similar functionality to JDownloader.

What can you do with JDownloader?

JDownloader, like many download managers, enables you to take control of the content you’re downloading online without having to rely on file hosting services. The downloader allows you to start, stop and pause downloads, allocate bandwidth limitations, and auto-extract archives, among other more advanced functions.   

These functions provide an immediate solution to the problems associated with file hosting systems. Download speeds are throttled to frustrate users and force them into paying to remove these limitations. From the outset, this can seem like a temporary delay. However, this can become a bigger problem for users who work from home or those who actively need to use the internet while a download is active. 

Long, arbitrarily delayed downloads strain the resources available to surf the web, play games, or use the software. JDownloader helps prevent this bottleneck through its download manager. Similarly, users can request a new IP address to overcome download limits from file hosts too.  

Once opened, you can use JDownloader to manage any online download. You can then pause each download, specify download order, download multiple files simultaneously, and even automatically overcome CAPTCHA requests. 

Is JDownloader safe?

For the most part, JDownloader operates on open source, which means anyone can view the code and files behind the program. Using open source also means injecting malicious files or viruses into the download is significantly more challenging. As open-source software, JDownloader focuses more on providing a fleshed-out experience with its core functionality rather than making its software user-friendly. Many users may find the user interface to be intimidating on the offset. 

The user interface can be the first roadblock to understanding how to access the functionality on offer for many users. The easiest way to get past this roadblock is to download your first file from a file host. Once added to JDownloader, it will become apparent how the software works, and the UI will open up to provide more information. 

You will then be able to see the file name, where it is being saved too, the size of the file, and the availability. The host will also be visible, so you know where the file originates. How can I upload(commit,write) my changes?

To upload to your code server, you need write access. Basically, everybody can get write access. But there are some requirements:

• Don’t be evil
• JDownloader currently is GPL, but soon will change it’s license to a different Open Source/Commercial Duallicense.

• Username (Your code will be published under this name)
• Allowance to relicense your commits. Example:

Note for RPI Zero : specify that you want the arm32v6 image (e.g. jaymoulin/jdownloader:0.7.0-arm32v6) because rpi zero identify itself as armhf which is wrong.

Загрузка и установка

Сначала давайте установим софт. Первое, что нужно будет сделать, это перейти в конец странички и найти там раздел загрузки. Нажимаем на кнопку и дожидаемся завершения скачивания файла. Дальше делаем так:

1. Воспользовавшись прикрепленным над кнопкой скачивания паролем, распаковываем полученный архив и запускаем исполняемый файл.

1. Выбираем удобный для себя язык установки. Инсталлятор не содержит русского, но сама программа будет переведена на него.

1. Если нужно, пользователь может изменить путь установки приложения по умолчанию. Так или иначе, дальше нужно переходить к следующему шагу, кликнув по отмеченной кнопке.

1. Установка флажков ассоциации приложения для поддерживаемых файлов помогает автоматически открывать JDownloader в нужный момент.

1. На следующем этапе пользователю останется лишь дождаться завершения процесса установки.

1. Закрываем инсталлятор и тем самым заканчиваем установку менеджера закачек.

Теперь, когда с установкой покончено, мы можем начинать работать с программой.

Инструкция по работе

Если вы взглянете на прикрепленной ниже скриншот, то поймете, что приложение работает на русском языке. Устанавливать русификатор не нужно, переключать локализацию в настройках тоже нет необходимости. Все отлично работает из коробки.

Суть работы с приложением сводится к тому, что вы находите в интернете какой-либо файлообменник и получаете ссылку на тот или иной файл. Дальше начинается закачка, которая запустится автоматически и пройдет тоже без участия пользователя.

How to Download and Install JDownloader 2 for Free

1. Click on the Download button on the sidebar, and the JDownloader 2 download page will open in a new tab.
2. Click on the logo for your operating system, and a download link will appear.
3. Press the link, and a new page will open to an external download site. Click on the Download link. The file is stored as a compressed RAR file, so you will need a program like WinRAR or WinZip to extract the setup wizard.
4. When the setup wizard opens, click Next to begin the installation.
5. Select the destination folder or use the default one chosen by JDownloader 2, and click Next.
6. Choose which file associations should be created, or just use the four default options, and click Next.
7. If you want a desktop icon, mark the appropriate box, and click Next.
8. JDownloader 2 has some ads in the installation wizard. I saw one for the Opera Browser and another for Avast Antivirus. If you don’t want to download these extra programs, you will have to decline the offer before clicking the Next button.
9. JDownloader 2 will install on your computer.
10. When the installation is complete, press the Finish button.

How to Uninstall JDownloader 2

If JDownloader 2 isn’t the right download program for you, . In the meantime, you can remove the program from your computer by following these simple steps.

1. Type Add or Remove Programs in the Windows search bar and press the Enter key.
2. Find JDownloader 2 in the list of programs, and click Uninstall.
3. Confirm that you want to delete JDownloader 2, and the uninstallation wizard will remove it from your computer.

?Is JDownloader 2 free?

?Is JDownloader 2 safe?

There are no known viruses or malware connected with JDownloader 2, provided you. As with any download program, be wary of the files that you choose to download. Make sure to have a reliable antivirus software and only download from a trustworthy site.

?Should I use a VPN when using JDownloader 2?

Normal run

• In Eclipse’s Package Explorer tab, navigate your project so that you expand the src folder, then expand the jd folder
• In /JDownloader/src/org/jdownloader/startup/ find the file: Main.java right-click on it, select Run As and and open the Run Configuration.
• A Run Configurations menu will open
• Select the Arguments tab, and where it says “VM arguments:” enter the JVM Parameter -Xmx512m
• Add -debug -n in Program Arguments this will always run a new instance (-n) and enable extended debug logs (-debug)

• Click the Apply button, and then click Run. After the first start, JD will update to the latest version.
• You may now test out the latest beta version of JD and familiarize yourself with the code. When you are ready to start making changes, join the chat channel and ask coalado or jiaz for login credentials.
